About Woodworker

Design it in 3D. Know it will hold.

What it is

Woodworker is a free tool for designing wooden furniture and garden structures: tables, desks, chairs, beds, shelves, sideboards, chests of drawers, wardrobes, benches, pergolas, decks, planters and your own designs built from single parts.

As you change a design it checks whether it’s strong and stable enough, suggests fixes, and gives you a cut list, a shopping list, assembly steps and a printable workshop sheet. It works in any modern browser, with no account, no ads and nothing to install.

Also try Garden Planner

Draw your garden to scale in 2D and walk around it in 3D, then drop in the pergola, deck or bench you designed in Woodworker at its real size.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc.). As with any website, when your browser loads the page, Cloudflare’s servers receive technical details of the request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page asked for, so they can deliver it and protect the site against attacks. This is needed to run the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Visitor statistics

Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views and gives rough figures such as country, browser and the page that linked here. It uses no cookies, doesn’t follow you across other websites and doesn’t record anything you do inside the app.

The Support button opens Ko-fi, a separate service with its own privacy policy. Nothing is sent to Ko-fi unless you click it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what data about you is held, and have it corrected or deleted, and you can complain to a data protection authority. Since Woodworker itself stores nothing about you, there is usually nothing to hand over, but get in touch (see Contact) if you have questions.

Use and liability

Woodworker is free to use. It is offered as it is, without any guarantee that it is free of errors or always available, and you use it at your own risk.

The strength and stability checks follow Eurocode 5 methods and common furniture test loads, but they are estimates to guide home-made projects, not certified engineering. Wood varies, and so does workmanship. Ask a qualified engineer about anything large, anything outdoors that people stand on, climb or sit under, and anything where a failure could hurt someone. Follow local building rules, and use protective equipment and tools safely.

Support

Woodworker is made by one person, with no ads and no sign-up. If it helped with your project, you can support it with a small tip, which pays for the time that goes into new features.
